Pre-design research and post-occupancy evaluations are cornerstones of all good design. As part of my services, I conduct focus groups and interviews in order to establish needs and identify points of concern. I also perform wayfinding assessments to ensure environmental legibility, and I review current research to ensure that designs positively contribute to human health and welfare. A final report is then assembled along with recommendations for the client. Firms often initiate ideas and concepts that are cutting edge, but for whatever reason these designs are never shared with the academic world. As part of my service, I will review the work and evaluate it for its contributions to the academic community. If the project is appropriate, I will draft an unbiased and a publishable article on behalf of the firm detailing the unique and beneficial aspects of the project. |
