Mold, dust, and dander are allergens that can negatively effect people with asthma, allergies, and other respiratory disorders. Sometimes it takes an expert to come into the home or workplace to identify environmental factors that effects a health or safety issue; particularly, as it relates to a specific condition.
Older and disabled people have many unique needs that must be accommodated for within the built environment in order to maintain a standard quality of life. Each person along with his or her unique abilities must be assessed by an expert who is knowledgeable in psychology and biology in order to develop the most appropriate environment for that person.
Whether it be depression, anxiety, or asthma and allergies the type and level of ions and the quality of oxygen in an environment can be a factor in the individual's overall health status. Through an analysis of humidity levels in conjunction with geographical climates, and other indicators an expert will be able assess an environment for its capacity to positively influence health.
We have long known about the importance of ergonomics within the workplace environment, but many fail to employ these methods in the designs of our home offices and kitchens. In order to develop the best designs for individuals experts observe how a person works and then develops a design that best accommodates that person's work patterns.
